are pleased to co-sponsor a seminar presented by Jeanne Goldberg, Senior
Attorney Advisor in the Office of Legal Counsel at the U.S. Equal Employment
Opportunity Commission (EEOC) headquarters in Washington, D.C
During the past year, the U.S. Equal Employment
Opportunity Commission has held public meetings on a wide range of EEO topics
and trends, including:
Discrimination against pregnant workers and workers with
caregiving responsibilities;
New final regulation on disparate impact and reasonable factors other than age under
the ADEA;
Overcoming barriers to
the employment of
veterans with disabilities;
Arrest and conviction records as a hiring barrier; and
Use of leave as a reasonable accommodation.
ADA Amendments Act.The EEOC also just adopted a new Strategic Plan for Fiscal Years
2012-2016 that outlines its investigation and litigation
priorities, and recently began enforcement of regulations promulgated pursuant
to theGenetic
Information Nondiscrimination Act and the

Jeanne Goldbergis a Senior Attorney
Advisor in the Office of Legal Counsel at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission (EEOC) headquarters in Washington, D.C.She assists the Commission in interpreting
and applying the statutes it enforces, and participates in drafting
regulations, policy guidance, and other publications.Ms. Goldberg has provided EEO training
presentations throughout the country for managers, employees, attorneys, and
human resources staff in both the private and public sectors, and is a frequent
speaker at national conferences.She
served as the 2010-11 Public Co-Chair of the National Programs Committee of the
American Bar Association’s Section of Labor and Employment Law, and from
2007-09 served as a government fellow on the Section’s Equal Employment
Opportunity Committee.
Prior to joining EEOC,
Ms. Goldberg was in private law practice from 1990-1999, specializing in civil
rights litigation, and argued EEO cases before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for
the Fourth and D.C. Circuits.She also served
as an adjunct law professor at the College of William and Mary from
1996-1998.Before entering private
practice, she served from 1988-1990 as a staff attorney for the U.S. Court of
Appeals for the Third Circuit. She received her B.A. from Northwestern
University and her J.D. from George Washington University.
